Would someone know and explain in layman's terms what the differences are between Impressa S9 OT http://www.all4coffee.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=91&products_id=37 and Impressa F9 http://www.all4coffee.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68&products_id=137
I cannot find this information anywhere (or it is not very clear). Thanks.

The Jura Impressa automatics are the best superautomatic machines designed for home use.  We often get questions about the differences between the S series (S9 Avantgarde, S9 One Touch, and the Impressa F9. Here are the two most important differences:

Series S has two heating systems, series F has one.  So in the Impressa S9 models one system is dedicated to the heating of water used in steaming wand and hot water dispenser, the other heating element is dedicated to making espresso shots. Impressa F9 with only one heating element takes an extra time to adjust temperature of the element from brewing to frothing.

Another important difference is the brewing temperature. Impressa S9 models brew at a higher temperature than F series. Higher brewing temperature yields a better (sweeter and more complex) shot of espresso.

OK. Thanks. This was very clear and fast too! I'm impressed. One more question: I see that the Impressa F9 is available in Factory Certified special section only. Is it safe to purchase a factory serviced or certified machine vs a brand new one?

Yes it is very safe because all machines listed as factory specials, certified, or factory serviced come with 12 months manufacturer's warranty. You can read more what these machines are in Our Jura Capresso Special Deals Section at

I purchased one of those (Impressa S9 Avantgarde) factory certified. It didn't look as a refurbished machine but brand new. It had about 200 count on it but everything was working perrfectly. I highly recommend!
